Groundbreaking for New Conference & Learning Center

June 13, 2025

Ruah Woods Institute hosted a small groundbreaking ceremony at our Cincinnati Westside campus on Thursday, June 5th to commemorate the beginning of a significant expansion in our evangelization efforts. Courtney Brown, Ruah Woods’ Executive Director delivered a meaningful ministry welcome, reminding us of our inspired mission in the world. Our Board President & Co-Founder, Tony Maas spoke about our founding, as well as the future in light of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as Pentecost was approaching. Our Archbishop Emeritus Dennis Schnurr prayed for us, shared scripture & a reflection, then finally blessed the grounds. It was a beautiful, inspiring ceremony.

The new Ruah Woods Institute’s Conference & Learning Center will have the features of a windows & wood-filled mountain retreat with cozy, natural, serene spaces, blending rustic charm with a sense of modern comfort & connection to nature. The new 17,000 square foot structure will incorporate 5 expandable meeting spaces, 100-seat capacity mass chapel, 100-seat dining facility equipped with a large kitchen & outdoor grills, plus 13 additional staff offices.

As a national leader in K-12 Theology of the Body (TOB) curriculum, as well as, experts in educator training & formation, we want to provide the opportunity for an in-person, full-immersion experience in living God’s ultimate plan for the human person as a gift with inherent dignity & imbued identity as His son or daughter with a vocation to love as God loves. We anticipate welcoming faculty, administrators, staff, and parents within Catholic schools, parishes, homes, and dioceses worldwide to personal growth & understanding in the truth, beauty, & goodness of living God’s design.

We envision equipping our participants to inspire a culture-shift in their home, school, work, & faith communities by integrating this sacramental worldview into daily life. Theology of the Body elicits answers to the deepest questions within our hearts: Who am I? Why am I here? What does it mean to love? How do I find happiness? We’ve developed a path that both deepens the foundations of the faith and provides spiritual enrichment to discover & strive towards God’s will for each of us, & we want to share it with the world, one unique & unrepeatable heart & mind at a time.

The grand opening for this beautiful addition is anticipated to be in October 2026. Please pray for all of the hands involved in the successful completion of this mighty endeavor.
